> In September, Krishna Kopell had a very successful show of a collection of 31 of her landscape paintings at Gallery House, a coop gallery of which she has been a member for 28 years.  The show was called Postcards from the Bay Area because all the paintings were small and modestly priced. Because the evening of the artist’s reception coincided with the first debate of the presidential campaign, attendance was lighter than usual at the reception.  However, an amazing number of paintings (16) were sold, either at the reception or later during the 3 and a half week show.

> Susan Brott Lawson will participate in the December portfolio show at the Pacific Art League, 668 Ramona Street, Palo Alto, CA (December 1st through 31st).

> Sandy Ostrau won two Judges Awards for paintings she entered and exhibited in the Art in the Redwoods Festival in Gualala, CA in early September.

Sandy will exhibit several large paintings at the newly built real estate offices of Liisberg and Kalinoski in Gualala, CA . Hanne Liisberg is hoping to brighten up her space in the midst of the gloom of the current real estate market. The office is located at 39351 S. Highway 1, Gualala, CA and it is open for anyone who wants to stop in. The paintings will be on display until February.

Two of Mary’s pastel paintings were accepted into the annual members’ juried show of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. The exhibit was on display at the Vacaville Museum during the month of October.

> In early October Mary K. Stahl participated in the Seasons of Martis plein air event in the Truckee/Lake Tahoe area. (http://www.northtahoearts.com/plein_air_event.php).  Noted painter Kevin Macpherson and Jean Stern, executive director of the Irvine Museum, selected participants from a field of applicants.  The event included three days of plein air painting throughout Martis Valley, an evening gala and silent auction, and a public display of paintings for sale. A portion of the proceeds from art sales was donated to North Tahoe Arts and to the Truckee Donner Land Trust.

In addition, Mary’s painting, Stormy, was accepted into the annual member juried show of the Los Gatos Art Association. She received an Honorable Mention award for her painting. If you are interested in joining the distribution list for Sunday paintouts, please email Kim Holl at kimhollpainting@yahoo.com.  She will be happy to add you.

> Saturday painting. This is a casual paintout. You can join in whenever you have time to paint. We are planning on changing painting locations every 3 weeks. In this way, we will be able to paint different sceneries.
If you are interested in joining the distribution list for Saturday paintouts, please email Danjue Li at lidanjue@gmail.com.  She will add your name to the list.
